What it does
FindPenguins combines trip planning, automatic route recording and travel stories. Its tracker works offline and can detect flights, while the service also creates route flyover videos and offers printed books with maps, photos and journal material.
Turn on tracking for a trip when remembering the actual route matters. It can continue offline, allowing the record to be built even when the day’s travel leaves mobile coverage. Stories and photographs then explain the stops rather than relying on the route line alone.
Other travellers’ itineraries provide inspiration for planning, but they describe someone else’s journey and should be checked against the conditions of a future visit. A 3D flyover is a quick sharing format, while a printed book can include the journal, maps and selected comments. The homepage describes planning, tracking and sharing as free, with book information and pricing on a separate route. Group tracking has its own introduction for people travelling together.
Set visibility for each trip: public, followers, selected close friends or private. There is no single privacy setting for the whole profile. A private link can also grant access to a protected trip or post, including for people without a FindPenguins account.
