What it does
FinQuery provides subledger tools for leases, fixed assets, debt and accrual/prepaid accounting, with schedules, journal entries and reporting. These detailed records feed the general ledger used for the company accounts. Businesses choose the required products and request a quote.
FinQuery's lease workflow produces amortization schedules, journal entries and disclosure reports. Its broader platform also addresses fixed-asset depreciation, debt records and accruals or prepayments.
Moving lease entries into the accounts
The lease product retains the LeaseQuery name. Contracts and supporting documents sit alongside payment schedules, while reminders flag important lease dates. FinQuery lists support for standards including ASC 842, IFRS 16 and GASB 87, with options for multiple currencies.
There are two ways to transfer journal entries to a connected accounting system:
- Automated Journal Entry sends entries directly to the company's finance system.
- Configured Journal Entry creates a downloadable file matching that system's import template. Someone still downloads and uploads the file.
Both integration options are subscription services. Automated integrations include updates; changes to a configured file template are requested through FinQuery. This distinction matters for a month-end process that needs either direct transfer or a reviewable import file.
Review and access controls
Role permissions control who can change records, and duplicate-entry checks flag repeated data. Report Studio offers report templates and scheduled reporting.
FinQuery provides separate login routes for its products. Pricing is supplied after discussing the required accounting tools and configuration; the publicly promoted LeaseGuru trial is a separate small-portfolio offer and does not establish free access to the full FinQuery platform.
Strengths
- Read-only auditor access lets outside reviewers inspect lease records
- Custom accounting calendars and multiple reporting standards support different reporting needs
- Locked journal entries and change history help trace changes
Watch out for
- Configured Journal Entry still requires a manual file upload into the accounting system
- Changes to a configured integration template must be requested
Best for
- Accounting teams replacing separate lease and subledger spreadsheets
- Finance teams choosing direct journal transfer or an accounting-system import file
