What it does
Firezone provides access to private resources through gateways, with identity-provider integration and configurable device-posture conditions.
Firezone puts the access decision ahead of the tunnel. Its page describes identity-provider membership, device certificates and posture checks such as disk encryption or operating-system currency. That is useful for an organization that wants an employee's device to meet conditions before reaching an internal app.
The data plane uses WireGuard, with clients connecting to gateways near the resources. Start by defining one resource and the people allowed to reach it, then add the device requirements you can actually manage.
Encrypted traffic and administrative records have different scopes here. Firezone says its relays cannot decrypt network contents, while its hosted service retains configuration, sign-in events, IP-derived location, device details, session/API activity and audit logs. Service-log retention follows the plan and can extend for security or legal needs. Include those records in the organization's access and retention policy.
