What it does

Firstrade combines securities accounts with analyst reports, earnings information and Options Wizard. The research catalogue includes outside providers such as Morningstar and Zacks. Options Wizard compares strategy outcomes and provides checklists, serving a different task from reading a company report.

Options Wizard can place three strategies for a stock side by side, showing risk and reward, estimated probability of profit and breakeven price. Profit-and-loss simulations and a strategy checklist help inspect assumptions before an order. Its OptionsPlay Score is a model output, not a promise about the result. Options privileges require separate approval.

Online stock, ETF, mutual-fund and options commissions are US$0, including the broker’s options contract fee. Regulatory fees still apply. Broker-assisted stock and ETF orders cost US$19.95; short-term mutual-fund redemption charges and bond markups can also matter.

Open Account starts the application. The international route is for eligible non-US residents in listed countries, including several European countries, India and Japan. It requires an application, W-8BEN and unexpired passport, with address proof in specified cases. International clients can open an individual account only, with no minimum deposit. Check the country list before collecting documents.
