What it does
FishBase provides fish-species search, references, pictures and identification-related resources through an international reference database.
Use a scientific name if you have one, or choose the language when searching a common name. The search interface separates genus and species fields and offers identification resources. That makes it useful for connecting a familiar fish name to a more precise record. Its mirror domains represent the same FishBase project.
Record the species page and the reference behind a value, rather than citing a mirror homepage alone.
