What it does

Flighty tracks flights on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It combines live flight information with a travel-history view and sharing features, while Pro adds alerts, imports, connection assistance and additional airport or delay tools.

A live flight view and a notification service are different needs. The free version provides core tracking and a limited history period, while Pro adds push alerts and the more detailed disruption features. All Pro functions are available for the first flight, so a first experience does not establish the continuing free entitlement.

Email, calendar and TripIt imports belong to the paid feature set. They can reduce manual entry for a frequent flyer, while a companion may mainly need shared flight progress. Inbound-aircraft information and delay predictions provide extra context during disruption, but the airline still controls the reservation and operating decisions. Compare the annual, weekly, lifetime or family purchase choices with the amount of travel and the specific features needed.

Strengths

  • Makes the tracking-versus-alert distinction clear in its plans
  • Combines flight imports with sharing and connection context

Watch out for

  • The first-flight Pro experience includes features that require paid access on later flights.

Best for

  • Apple-device travellers comparing basic tracking and frequent-flyer alerts
