What it does

Fontfabric publishes paid and free font families, trial files and custom typography services. Its family pages combine text previews, style selection, glyph information and licences for specific outputs.

Fontfabric's family pages help you compare a whole system with a smaller purchase. On Nexa, enter your text and adjust its size, then choose the complete family, the Nexa or Nexa Text collection, or individual styles. Select the required licence and usage allowance before adding the fonts to the cart. For client work, put the client in the License Owner field at checkout.

The Free fonts section includes releases such as Akrobat, Slovic and Lovelo that permit commercial design. Free-font requests send a ZIP with the licence and installation instructions by email. Trials are a separate evaluation offer with complete characters; demos may have fewer characters or incomplete technical features.

Desktop licences are perpetual. Other uses offer annual or perpetual options, and digital licences default to annual on the buying page. Device interfaces need the dedicated OEM licence, so a desktop or app licence does not automatically cover a product's control panel or display.

Strengths

  • Combines family, collection and individual-style purchase options.
  • Offers free fonts for commercial design alongside retail families.

Watch out for

  • Device-interface embedding needs dedicated coverage.
  • Some digital licenses have annual and perpetual alternatives.

Best for

  • Brands comparing broad retail families.
  • Teams planning typography across print and digital products.
