What it does
Fontself Maker turns lettering and artwork into OpenType fonts inside Illustrator or Photoshop. It supports alternates, ligatures, metrics, kerning and color-font workflows, with host-specific capabilities.
Fontself Maker works with lettering already drawn in Illustrator or Photoshop. Drag artwork into the extension to create glyphs, then add alternate forms or combine several characters into a ligature. You can adjust spacing by moving metric lines or entering values, and use kerning groups to keep related letter pairs consistent. Export produces an OpenType font.
Illustrator handles standard and color vector fonts, including automatic spacing and kerning. Photoshop adds bitmap color-font creation through the bundle. Both require supported desktop Creative Cloud versions; the store currently lists CC 2025 and 2026. The Photoshop extension does not support Windows ARM.
There is no trial. A one-time personal licence includes updates and covers one user on two devices, which can include both a Mac and a PC.
