What it does
Footpath is a route planner for mobile and web use. Basic supports route creation, distance and elevation viewing and a small saved collection, while Elite expands route storage, terrain analysis, maps and voice navigation.
Draw a route and inspect the elevation chart before adding more distance. That is the useful planning loop: shape the outing around both length and hills rather than treating distance as the only constraint. Basic includes saving up to five routes, syncing them and sharing a route.
Elite removes the saved-route limit and adds features such as lists, cue sheets, voice directions, map printing and export. Its subscription works across iOS, Android and the web. Offline maps and navigation belong to the expanded offering, so check what you need before relying on the app away from a connection. The free saved collection is useful for comparing a few regular routes before deciding whether the expanded navigation tools are needed.
