What it does
FormBackend receives submissions from an existing HTML or CMS form and provides an inbox, notifications and integrations. Routing rules can send a request to a different address based on its field values. The free endpoint accepts 50 monthly submissions, while a separate free hosted builder has unlimited submissions; paid plans add forms and automation.
Create a FormBackend account and a form, then copy the endpoint from Set Up into your HTML form's action attribute. Use the POST method. Submit a test entry and inspect Submissions. If it is missing, check the spam inbox through the Inbox filter.
For routing, open Rules and compare a submitted field with the expected value. A department choice can send enquiries to different addresses. Rules can also change spam classification or the return page. Use original HTML field names even after renaming their display labels. Open the test entry's event history to see which rules matched and which actions ran.
| Plan | Forms | Monthly submissions |
|---|---|---|
| Free endpoint | 1 | 50 |
| Free hosted builder | 1 | Unlimited |
| Simple | 2 | 1,000 |
| Freelancer | 10 | 5,000 |
| Business | Unlimited | 10,000 |
The two free options have different capacity because one handles your existing form and the other hosts the form itself. Simple adds uploads, autoresponses and webhooks. Freelancer adds routing rules and API access; Business adds team members, projects and shared integrations.
Paid plans offer monthly or annual billing. Start the free account without a card. Registration supports an email/password account, Google or GitHub.
