What it does
Fort Foundry publishes families including Termina, Industry, Alkaline and Kodachrome. It offers individual retail licences, a paid app membership and a separate free Fieldstone font download.
Fort offers two distinct ways to evaluate and use its catalog. The Mac app activates trial versions inside desktop design software after you create a free account. There is no evaluation time limit, but professional use requires a membership or suitable retail licence. For a free production download, the Fieldstone offer sends the font with a Desktop Licence by email.
Membership includes Fort and Hoodzpah fonts and new releases. It also supplies hosted webfonts for up to five domains and one million monthly pageviews: open the family’s Webfonts panel, copy its embed line and register the allowed addresses. These webfonts stop loading when membership ends. Retail web licensing is instead perpetual and self-hosted, which can suit a client handoff.
The app does not expose font files for sharing or uploading into Canva. Retail purchases supply files with desktop, web, app, broadcast or advertising coverage as selected. The catalog’s in-use examples give context for choices such as wide Termina, technical Industry and the Alkaline script before you settle on the access route.
