What it does
Fraksl creates evolving fractal visuals from live video feedback, filters and mirrors. Layers and modulation turn an image or camera input into a moving composition.
A layer can use the camera, a library image or video, or an NDI stream. Adjust its blend, opacity, position and rotation, then save visual states as bookmarks. A sequence assigns hold and transition times to those states.
Audio, MIDI, motion and other signals can drive parameters. Capture produces still images or recorded video; NDI sends output to compatible software. Presets retain the broader setup.
Core features are free. Extra layers, modulators, capture, streaming and save capacity are sold separately or as a bundle.
Strengths
- Bookmarks organise visual changes into timed sequences
- External signals can control the evolving image
Watch out for
- Several output and control features require paid unlocks
Best for
- Abstract visuals for live performance
