What it does

FreeMockups is a directory of mockup resources for packaging, print, books, devices and other design contexts. Listings include descriptions and file details, then direct users to the original source. Browsing does not require an account.

Search for an object or browse categories, then use the heart to keep a shortlist in your browser. Each listing points to its original creator. The European business-card page, for example, identifies a 90 × 55 mm PSD, names Andrew at Mockups Design and links separately to the download and licence.

The directory's Smart Object guide follows the work beyond discovery: open the artwork layer's thumbnail, place the design, save the child document and return to the main PSD. It also explains multi-surface files, separate colour controls and export to a flattened JPEG or PNG.

Downloads happen on the creator's website. FreeMockups provides a commercial-use summary for each listing, but the linked creator's licence governs the file. Its guides distinguish a finished presentation image from a layered mockup that you may not be permitted to pass on.

Strengths

  • Listings link to the original resource creator.
  • Browsing and category comparison do not need an account.

Watch out for

  • The directory is not the owner of every listed resource or its licence.

Best for

  • Finding a suitable scene across independent mockup creators
