Freighter

Freighter separates Tokens, Discover and History so that a balance, an application connection and a completed action have their own places. New setup starts with Create a new wallet, a password and recovery-phrase backup. Confirm the three requested words before enabling biometric access where supported. There is no email-account registration in this local setup.

The generated Stellar account needs 1 XLM reserved to exist on the network. Adding certain assets reserves another 0.5 XLM per entry, and transactions require spendable XLM beyond those reserves. A displayed total balance therefore need not all be available to send.

To exchange a supported Stellar asset, open Swap, choose both tokens and enter an amount or balance percentage. Review shows an estimated result; Transaction details exposes the parameters. The settings icon controls the network inclusion fee, timeout and maximum slippage, meaning the price movement you permit before the swap fails. After confirmation, View transaction and View on stellar.expert lead to the completed record.

The built-in swap currently uses Stellar’s exchange. Some contract-based tokens are incompatible with that route and require a separate compatible application; an asset appearing in the wallet does not establish that the native Swap button can trade it. Prices and execution can change between a quote and completion.

Freighter’s extension code is available under Apache License 2.0. Using the free software does not provide recovery assistance: preserve the phrase yourself, and never send it to someone claiming to be Freighter support.
