What it does
FreshBooks connects client invoicing with time tracking, expenses and double-entry accounting reports. It suits service businesses that bill for work and reimbursable costs. Paid plans differ by client allowance, and accountant access starts on Plus. A trial is available before subscribing.
From client work to the accounts
For a consulting project, tracked work and reimbursable costs can feed the invoice rather than remaining in separate notes. FreshBooks also provides a customizable chart of accounts and reports such as Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance.
What the client allowance changes
The USD prices below are standard monthly charges, before temporary introductory offers.
| Plan | Monthly price | Clients you can invoice |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | $23 | 5 |
| Plus | $43 | 50 |
| Premium | $70 | Unlimited |
| Select | Quote from sales | Unlimited |
Plus adds accountant access and financial reports. Premium adds project-profitability reporting and bill receipt scanning. Extra team members normally cost $11 per user per month; Select includes two team-member accounts. Payment processing and payroll carry separate charges.
Use Try It Free to create an account before selecting a subscription. If you need your accountant to update journals or the chart of accounts, compare Plus or higher. FreshBooks also publishes CAD, GBP and AUD pricing, so use the currency that applies to your subscription.
