What it does
Frollo for You is a free money-management app for Australians, with linked accounts, spending categories, budgets, saving goals and recurring-bill tracking. A Frollo account is required. Manual assets and liabilities can supplement linked balances in the Net Worth view.
Use Frollo’s transaction categories to see how spending changed over time, then create a budget or goal from that history. Alerts can highlight unusually high spending or insufficient funds for upcoming bills. The consumer app is free without a subscription or advertising.
Budgets follow processed transactions
Choose a category and a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cycle, independently of your pay cycle. Frollo suggests an amount from previous spending, and you can adjust it. Pending bank transactions are excluded until they are fully processed, so a recent card purchase may not yet reduce the budget. Budgets cover individual categories; they do not group several categories or set one limit for all expenses.
To create a savings goal, open the Goals dashboard, name the goal, set an amount and completion date, and link one account. Progress follows that account’s latest balance. You can change the target or pause the goal. Once marked complete, it remains complete even if the account balance later falls.
Connections and manual balances
A Frollo login can use email or a supported social account. An existing user should use the same email for either route; a different social email creates a separate Frollo user.
For supported institutions, Frollo uses Australia’s Consumer Data Right connection with your chosen accounts and consent period. Where that route is unavailable, Continue with screen-scraping offers a separate Yodlee connection. Frollo explains that this option gives banking credentials to Yodlee and may involve data storage in the United States.
Manual assets, liabilities and cash appear in Net Worth and require manual balance updates. They do not feed Cashflow or the Financial Passport report. Linked accounts can be included or excluded from Cashflow, Budgets and Bills, so the account selection affects the picture you see.
Strengths
- Budget cycles can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly regardless of payday.
- Goals track a chosen linked account against an amount and deadline.
- Manual assets and liabilities can supplement linked net-worth balances.
Watch out for
- Pending transactions do not count toward budgets until the bank processes them.
- Manual accounts do not appear in Cashflow or the Financial Passport report.
- A completed goal stays complete even if its linked account balance later drops.
Best for
- Australians who want connected household spending and bill tracking
