What it does

FYIsoft standardizes general-ledger data from accounting systems for financial statements, entity rollups and reporting packages. Controllers can distribute reports by recipient, export them or let authorized users inspect the underlying transactions.

A controller reporting on several companies can use ReportFYI to build an entity view and a consolidated report from the same ledger data. It accommodates different charts of accounts, currencies and calendars, which matters when a group has grown through acquisitions or uses more than one accounting system.

Report design uses rows, columns and reporting trees. Organisational changes can be reflected by moving items in the tree, while distribution settings determine who receives each report or package. Completed reports can be scheduled for delivery, viewed online or exported to PDF or XLS. Authorized users can drill from a reported balance to transaction details, including scanned invoices.

FYIsoft also offers BudgetFYI for budgets and Telli for analysis and commentary on financial statements. Existing customers enter the appropriate application through the CloudFYI launch page with a user ID and password.

For Microsoft customers, the published pricing model is an annual product and user licence, with a three-year term also offered. The quote depends on users and data-processing requirements. A separate implementation package covers setup, migration and training; ongoing support is included in the licence, while extra customization or training can cost more. Discuss your accounting systems and reporting structure during the demo so the proposal covers the connections and report conversion you need.

Strengths

  • Consolidates entities with different ledgers, currencies and calendars
  • Supports scheduled report packages and PDF or XLS exports
  • Allows transaction-level drill-down from financial reports

Watch out for

  • Implementation is a separate cost from the Microsoft offering's licence
  • Additional customization and training can incur service charges

Best for

  • Controllers distributing recurring reports to many entities or locations
  • Microsoft Dynamics finance teams replacing Management Reporter
