What it does
G-Type publishes retail fonts and provides custom typefaces, logos and related services. Its catalog includes Remora, Houschka, Rollerscript and Jekyll & Hyde.
Jekyll & Hyde makes a useful feature unusually visible: Style Set 1 changes its humanist forms into a more grotesque design. Separate Jekyll and Hyde versions are also available when you want that appearance in the default character positions. Family purchases include variable versions with weight and width axes.
Use the Test Drive tools and Character Set section to inspect the actual wording, alternates and required characters. A downloadable PDF specimen provides another reference. The foundry distinguishes OTF desktop files from webfont formats, and prohibits converting the files yourself.
G-Type licences fonts and webfonts perpetually for a one-off fee. The standard desktop tier starts at five devices; website coverage is selected by pageviews. Apps and ebooks can be licensed online, while broadcast, servers and hardware embedding need their own arrangements. Online purchases are available immediately; offline orders can be delivered by email after payment clears. Variable files are included with a paid family purchase.
