What it does

Gainsight Customer Communities provides branded discussions, self-service content, groups and product feedback. Its ideation tools collect suggestions and votes, merge similar feedback and communicate idea status and product updates. Pricing is quoted for the community package, and administrators sign into its Control area.

Merge similar suggestions before treating vote totals as a priority list in Gainsight Customer Communities. Ideas can be filtered and categorised by product area, given an owner and a status, and discussed with contributors when clarification is needed. Saved views help the relevant product team work through its part of the feedback.

Product Updates can explain what happened to a suggestion. Members can subscribe, contributors can be tagged, and an update can be limited to a particular audience. A beta advisory group can discuss a planned change before the wider release announcement. The feedback dashboard records ideas, votes and delivered work.

Customer Communities has its own packages, separate from Gainsight's customer-success and product-analytics software.

Package Administrator seats Included scope
Professional 3 Basic product suite and self-service support
Business 5 All Customer Communities products and customer-success manager support
Enterprise 10 Advanced or custom integrations and enterprise support

Use Gainsight's Request Pricing form for the selected community package. Administrators work in the signed-in Control area. A community with several product teams should account for each person who needs an administrator seat, as member participation and administration are different types of access.

Strengths

  • Similar ideas can be merged and assigned to an owner
  • Product Updates connect release communication with the people who contributed feedback

Watch out for

  • Professional includes only three administrator seats and the basic product suite
  • Advanced or custom integrations are reserved for Enterprise

Best for

  • Customer community teams connecting peer discussion with product feedback and updates
