What it does
Gallica is the Bibliothèque nationale de France’s digital library, combining digitized books with periodicals, manuscripts and other historical material from its collections and partners.
Search by the work or subject, then inspect the item’s available viewing and download options. Gallica includes both hosted documents and references leading to partner collections, so the access route can change between results. Its free library access should be considered separately from reuse: copyright status and any negotiated permissions belong to the particular document.

- Access and reuse conditions depend on the item
