What it does
Garden Organic is a charity offering organic growing advice, courses and community resources. Its Heritage Seed Library conserves vegetable varieties and shares seed through membership.
Garden Organic gives organic growing a clear practical structure. The site links planning, composting and introductory principles courses, as well as monthly garden notes. Choose one task, such as planning the growing space, before working through the wider material.
Its seed-conservation work is a distinct part of the offer. The Heritage Seed Library maintains vegetable varieties that are not widely available and shares seed with members. That makes the organisation relevant to growers interested in conservation as well as everyday cultivation. Courses, general reading and membership are different routes, so choose the level of involvement that matches your purpose.
For the seed library, individual members normally choose up to six varieties from the annual list between December and the end of February. Seed requests can currently be delivered only to Great Britain, meaning England, Wales and Scotland. Membership from elsewhere can support conservation but does not provide seed delivery.
