What it does

GeckoTerminal tracks prices, liquidity, trading activity and holder information for decentralized-exchange pools. Public pool lookup opens without registration, and its free public data API has a route to broader paid access through CoinGecko.

A token can trade in several pools with different liquidity, fees and activity. Search its contract address, select the intended network and open the particular pool. The pool address identifies the market being examined; a matching token symbol alone is not enough.

The main table places pool age, liquidity, transaction count and volume beside price changes over five minutes, one hour, six hours and a day. Filter by liquidity size, daily volume or price performance when narrowing a large list. Trending, Categories and New Pools provide different starting points for discovery.

On a pool page, check Pool Details and Addresses together. For a pool such as the Uniswap V3 WETH/USDC market, those sections distinguish the pool contract from each token contract, display the trading-fee tier and show the amounts of both pooled assets. A token’s market capitalization describes the asset more broadly; it is not the cash available in that particular pool.

Add to Watchlist places a pool in the Main list or a new list. Chart indicators and drawing tools help examine its price history. A security score or an absence of community reports does not establish that a token is safe, and thin liquidity can make its displayed price a poor guide to a larger trade.

For developers, the API supplies data to other software. Higher allowances and expanded data are sold through CoinGecko’s onchain plans, so compare that product’s current terms before building a high-volume integration.

Strengths

  • Pool pages distinguish token addresses from the pool contract
  • Exchange rankings compare liquidity and trading activity
  • Watchlists organize selected markets into separate groups

Watch out for

  • A pool’s liquidity and fee tier can differ from other markets for the same token
  • Security indicators do not remove trading or contract risk

Best for

  • Researchers comparing several pools for one asset
  • Readers following recently created decentralized-exchange markets
