What it does
Gem combines candidate sourcing, relationship management, applicant tracking, interview scheduling and hiring analytics. Teams can connect it to an existing applicant tracking system or use Gem's built-in system for jobs, applications and offers.
Choose where the recruitment record should live. Gem can add sourcing, outreach and analytics to an existing applicant tracking system, or include its own system for applications and offers. That decision sets the scope of a connection or migration.
For outreach, open Sequences under Outreach and create a new sequence. Name it, choose whether it supports sourcing, an event or longer-term contact, and set each message's channel and timing. Add recipients individually or from a project, then preview the stages before sending. Replies stop the automated sequence; you can also pause it manually.
Email and LinkedIn InMail stages behave differently. InMail is a manual task and normally pauses progress until marked complete. Check that task and any reply before allowing the next email, rather than assuming every channel sends automatically.
Access and pricing
Account setup starts with an email address and guides the recruiter through email permissions, the browser extension and any existing-system connection. Commercial pricing depends on company size and selected scope. Eligible companies with fewer than 30 employees receive six months of All-in-One access before the paid startup offer; the published program also serves companies with 30 to 100 employees. This temporary offer should be budgeted as an introductory period.
Strengths
- Supports both an existing-system connection and a built-in applicant tracking route.
- Outreach sequences combine scheduled emails with reminders for manual channels.
Watch out for
- InMail stages require manual completion before the sequence proceeds by default.
Best for
- Recruiting teams deciding whether to extend an existing applicant tracking system or consolidate hiring in Gem
