What it does
Aegis Authenticator is a free open-source Android app for managing two-step verification tokens with an encrypted vault and backup options.
Aegis makes backup and migration part of managing two-factor tokens on Android. Configure automatic backups before enrolling many accounts and retain the vault password: the FAQ says encrypted export/import uses that same password, and losing it can lose vault access. Biometric unlock is a convenience rather than a replacement password. Aegis itself has no internet access. Cloud backup needs a compatible Android storage-provider app, or another app to sync a local backup folder. Keep the protected services' recovery codes independently reachable.
