What it does

Balance combines B2B invoice payment, credit onboarding and accounts receivable tools. Sellers can configure invoices and buyer portals while finance teams review payment matches and exceptions. Commercial terms depend on the service arrangement; business enrollment and transaction approval apply to its deferred-payment programs.

Let buyers manage invoices

Pay-by-Invoice supports consolidated billing, configurable billing dates and net terms. Buyers can group orders by department or location, see available credit, request a higher limit and set up automatic payment. At checkout, a buyer can combine available credit with an immediate payment for the remainder.

Review cash application

Balance matches incoming payments to invoices using remittance information, correspondence, payment history and other account context. Finance staff can set automatic-match thresholds. Items can emerge as matched, ready for review or unmatched, with a log explaining the automated decision. Exception handling routes unresolved cases to an internal team or customer and tracks response deadlines.

Access and commercial boundaries

The deferred-payment program requires an online account and approval. Its purchase limit can change, and each transaction is assessed separately. The program is for commercial, business or nonprofit use.

For sellers enrolling through a reseller, the reseller agreement determines fees; that enrollment form covers specified card and ACH payment services, with extra services requiring a separate agreement. A product discussion with Balance establishes the scope for a wider invoice and receivables implementation.

Strengths

  • Invoices can carry the seller's branding and customized billing periods
  • Payment matching can request missing remittance context from the buyer

Watch out for

  • An approved purchase limit does not guarantee approval of every transaction
  • Reseller payment enrollment does not automatically include every Balance product

Best for

  • Business sellers coordinating net terms with invoice collection and payment reconciliation
