What it does

FireShot captures full webpages, visible regions and selected areas from a browser. A free edition covers basic capture; Pro adds batch jobs, advanced PDF output and an annotation editor on Windows. Pro is offered through yearly or lifetime licences.

Capture and prepare webpage references

Open the FireShot button’s menu and select an entire page, visible area or selection. Pro can also capture open tabs or a supplied list of websites. Its Windows editor crops, resizes, highlights, blurs and adds text. Headers and footers can include the page address and capture time.

Save the result as PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP or PDF. Pro PDFs can retain searchable text and direct links. A saved editor project holds several captures so that work can continue later.

Edition and licence limits

The free edition remains available after the documented ten-day Pro evaluation ends. The Pro trial is for evaluating a purchase. Yearly and lifetime purchases include the Pro features, with the image editor and smart annotations limited to Windows.

The purchase page says an individual licence covers two devices, while the separate licence agreement allows two desktops and two laptops for the licence owner. Confirm the applicable allowance before buying for several computers.

Developers can use the JavaScript API, a programming interface for launching capture from a webpage. It requires an installed FireShot extension and explicit activation in Options; it is not a remote screenshot service.

Strengths

  • Pro captures open tabs or lists of webpage addresses.
  • Advanced PDFs can preserve searchable text and direct links.

Watch out for

  • The Pro image editor and smart annotations are Windows-only.
  • The purchase page and licence agreement give different device allowances.

Best for

  • Preparing sets of webpage references for QA, support or training.
