What it does
Outline provides a manager and clients for operating a private access server and distributing unique access keys to trusted users.
Outline's workflow begins with the person running the server. The Manager creates access keys that can be shared with individual users, while the client connects using a supplied key. That separation is useful for a small trusted group whose organizer wants control over hosting and access distribution.
You choose where the server runs and pay the associated hosting costs. Outline's apps use the Apache License 2.0. The Manager can set a separate data limit for each user's access key. Its proxy-based access design should not be confused with a consumer VPN's supplied exit network.
