Recut

What it does

Recut analyzes audio and video files to find silence, then creates a cut list automatically. It exports XML cut lists to Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, ScreenFlow, and CapCut. It also exports standard video and audio files in MP4, WAV, and M4A formats.

Recut is a desktop tool that removes silence from video and audio files. It scans your media, finds the quiet parts, and builds a cut list you can send to Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, ScreenFlow, or CapCut. It also exports standard MP4, WAV, and M4A files that work in other editors. The site says it supports multi-track timelines, so it can cut across multiple cameras and microphones. Recut runs on Mac and Windows. It started as a Mac-only app in 2021 and was rewritten for both platforms in 2022. Pricing is a one-time purchase of $129 for one user, or a monthly subscription at $15 per month. A free trial gives you three exports with no watermark and no credit card required. The license covers one person, and you can install it on your Mac and Windows computers. A 30-day money-back guarantee is offered. The site does not mention an API or open source code, so those details are unknown.
