What it does

Numara is a notepad-style calculator that evaluates expressions while they are written and can plot functions.

Numara evaluates a written worksheet as it changes, with Math.js units and scientific functions. Use ans, line references or block subtotal to reuse earlier work; defining f(x) creates a link that opens its plot. Comments start with // or #. Date arithmetic uses the selected locale, and a bare slash-separated date without an operator is treated as division. The settings distinguish numeric output type from display notation and decimal places: Number, BigNumber or Fraction does not force every function to return that type, because many functions follow their input type. Predictable Output also changes whether a negative square root becomes a complex value or NaN. Currency conversion can be disabled and otherwise imports Floatrates units on a chosen refresh interval. The MIT application is free and unlimited, with a separate browser version linked from its repository.
