What it does

QualCoder imports documents for hierarchical coding and reports on coded passages, frequencies and comparisons between coders.

Import text such as TXT, DOCX, ODT, EPUB or PDF, then code passages and group codes into categories. QualCoder can compare coders and coding frequencies while keeping the source context. A .qda project is a folder containing the database and supporting files, so move or back up the whole folder. The guide warns against running an active project from a network drive, cloud-synced location or USB stick because interrupted access or synchronization can corrupt it. Codebooks export as text or ODT; REFI-QDA project exchange has documented compatibility limits. AI is opt-in and disabled by default, separate from manual coding.
