What it does

Oinkoin is an open-source expense tracker for Android, Linux and Windows that works without an account or internet connection. It records personal spending locally and summarizes it with charts. The free edition covers basic tracking; Pro adds budgets, recurring transactions and several wallets.

Bring an existing spending history across

Open Settings > Import from CSV and choose a file or paste CSV text. Review the preview, then map the columns to fields such as Title, Amount, Date/Time and Category. The final summary identifies rows that could not be read before you select Import. A saved mapping can be reused for the next statement, and matching records are skipped to avoid duplicates.

Choose the edition and download route

The free app includes one profile, the default wallet, one currency and the monthly view. Manual backup export is free; restoring a backup and scheduling automatic backups require Pro. Pro also adds custom date ranges and PDF reports.

On Google Play, the separate Pro app costs US$4.59 once. The free Android app can also be upgraded through an in-app purchase. The project distributes Pro without charge through F-Droid and offers packages through GitHub, including desktop downloads. F-Droid releases may arrive later than GitHub versions.

Strengths

  • A Pro wallet can be archived while keeping its past transactions
  • Pro tags group records across ordinary expense categories

Watch out for

  • Changing a wallet's currency label leaves its existing recorded amounts unchanged

Best for

  • People moving a spreadsheet of expenses into a local personal ledger
