What it does
Gokapi is a self-hosted file-sharing application with roles, expiring links, file requests and optional S3-compatible storage.
Registered users can publish shares while an external contributor can upload through a file-request URL. That distinction is useful for a small service that should not allow unrestricted public uploading. Gokapi documents expiration by time or download count, deduplication, identity-provider integration and an automation API. The operator still chooses and maintains the deployment and storage backend.
Strengths
- Controlled uploads plus external file requests
- Role management and automation API
Best for
- A self-managed file-drop service with user permissions
