What it does
Trippy analyzes network paths using traceroute and ping functionality and provides packages for Linux, BSD, macOS and Windows.
Point Trippy at a destination and choose ICMP, UDP or TCP tracing, with source, port, timing and TTL controls for a repeatable comparison. It can produce JSON, CSV, Markdown or Graphviz reports after a chosen number of rounds, as well as an interactive view. Multiple simultaneous targets currently require ICMP. Privileges depend on the system: Windows requires Administrator, while the documented unprivileged mode is currently macOS-only and excludes Paris/Dublin ECMP strategies. Linux has a raw-socket capability route. These are probe observations from the chosen host, not a complete account of application traffic. Trippy is Apache-2.0 software.
