What it does
Gravity UI Icons supplies a shared icon library as raw SVG files and React imports. It is a separate package within the Gravity UI project.
Choose the delivery format before adding an icon to a screen. A direct import such as @gravity-ui/icons/Cloud selects one glyph; importing from the package root depends on your bundler removing unused exports. Raw SVG imports need a loader that understands SVG files.
In a Gravity UI settings page, pass an imported gear or cloud icon to the UI kit’s Icon renderer. That renderer handles size, color and accessibility; the artwork package does not supply a component that looks up arbitrary icon names. This distinction helps when moving a design into code: the visible catalog name still needs a real import, and a custom brand mark must come from your own SVG.
Install @gravity-ui/icons from the public package registry without a Gravity account. The package is free under MIT; preserve its copyright and permission notice when redistributing it.
Strengths
- Raw SVG and React imports support different build pipelines.
- Individual import paths let a project select specific glyphs.
Watch out for
- SVG imports need suitable build configuration.
Best for
