What it does
DroidFS is an Android application for accessing gocryptfs and CryFS encrypted volumes through an internal file explorer.
DroidFS uses its own explorer instead of mounting a volume for every Android app. Its README describes viewing several file types, taking encrypted photos and automatically locking when the app goes into the background. Keep that boundary in mind when enabling export or screenshots. The project marks those options as risky and disables them by default. It also explicitly says the app cannot protect against a compromised device, screen-recording threats or keyloggers, so the volume should not be treated as protection from every local process.
Strengths
- Internal explorer for supported encrypted-volume formats
Watch out for
- Export and screenshot options weaken the default data boundary
Best for
- Android users accessing existing gocryptfs or CryFS storage
