What it does
Circle Flags is a separately drawn circular flag library with an online gallery and predictable SVG paths. It publishes its source under MIT.
Circle Flags maps country identifiers to round SVG illustrations. A page can reference the published flags folder with a lowercase two-letter country code and set the image width. The gallery shows available entries and special variants; the repository can also be installed as a dependency.
React, React Native and Solid wrappers are linked for component-based interfaces. The drawings share a normalized palette, with specified exceptions such as a darker blue to distinguish Chad from Romania. This creates a consistent interface family rather than exact artwork for manufacturing flags.
The project is free under MIT. Public SVG files and repository installation require no Circle Flags account, and redistributed copies retain the licence notice. In a country picker, keep a readable country name alongside the small image.
Strengths
- Country-code paths simplify a country-picker mapping.
- The gallery exposes available artwork and variants.
Watch out for
- The normalized palette is intended for consistent icon artwork rather than exact flag-production specifications.
Best for
- Country and territory selectors
- Interfaces needing circular flag artwork
