What it does

IPTraf-ng displays connections, protocol counters, port usage, packet-size statistics and LAN-station activity on Linux.

Choose the statistical view for the question: IP connections, interface activity, TCP/UDP ports, packet sizes or LAN stations. IPTraf-ng’s supplied manual starts from a root-run menu and also documents direct interface/facility options. Filters and logging help keep a focused record. The optional facility timeout is in minutes and is ignored in menu mode; numeric suffixes such as K and M denote decimal approximations. Linux packet-socket support is a prerequisite, and distribution packages can tailor the software. These counters describe traffic captured at the selected interfaces, including supported VLAN and tunnel forms, rather than every path through a larger network.
