What it does
The Kubernetes Icons Set standardizes diagrams of resources, infrastructure and control-plane components. Prepared PNG and SVG files come in labeled and unlabeled forms, with scripts for raster and Visio-stencil generation. The set offers a choice of Apache 2.0 or CC BY 4.0.
Choose labeled or unlabeled symbols according to the audience. A labeled Pod or Service helps a general technical presentation, while an established team may prefer separate nearby text. PNG and SVG versions cover Kubernetes resources, infrastructure and control-plane components. The example of an exposed Pod with three replicas shows how these groups fit together in one diagram.
The repository includes scripts that convert SVGs to PNGs and build a Visio stencil from the raster files. That generation route uses Docker, so teams needing only artwork can take the prepared images directly. Choose Apache 2.0 or CC BY 4.0 for the icon-set licence. The Kubernetes platform logo remains subject to the Linux Foundation’s separate trademark guidelines.
Strengths
- Labeled and unlabeled variants support different technical audiences.
- Prepared PNGs and SVGs accompany a Docker-based stencil-generation workflow.
Watch out for
- The supplied raster and stencil-generation scripts depend on Docker.
Best for
- Kubernetes architecture documentation
- Training diagrams explaining resources and control-plane roles
