What it does
Ethr measures bandwidth, connections per second, packets per second, latency and other network characteristics across supported protocols.
Choose the metric and protocol before the endpoint. Ethr’s client mode talks to an Ethr server, using port 8888 by default; external mode supports selected tests against a non-Ethr target. Duration, parallel sessions, buffer size, rate and transfer direction change the workload, so keep them with the result. It logs to a file by default unless logging is disabled. Connection setup rate, sustained bandwidth and latency answer different questions. The README documents extra privileges for Linux ICMP/route tests and Windows TCP-route reception, plus Windows ICMP firewall requirements. The MIT-licensed Go implementation is cross-platform, but a result still describes the selected endpoints, mode and load.
