What it does
HeuDiConv organizes DICOM research data into configurable directory and naming schemes. It uses dcm2niix for conversion and supports BIDS-oriented workflows and provenance tracking.
A Python heuristic maps the DICOM tree to names and directories, with dcm2niix performing the image conversion. HeuDiConv can generate mapping files for editing before a later run and stores parameters in .heudiconv. The CLI can disable conversion while checking the heuristic, select a separate converted-file directory and explicitly overwrite converted files. Setup paths refer to non-anonymized subject IDs even when an anonymization command is used for converted output; those locations have different data-handling implications.
