What it does
Numix’s icon projects include a shared base theme and the Circle application-icon collection, with distribution packages and hardcoded-icon guidance.
Numix Circle changes Linux application icons to a circular treatment while relying on the Numix base theme for the broader desktop system. Treat the two parts as one installation choice when comparing application launchers with panel and file-manager symbols.
Install Circle and the base through the same route so panel icons keep working as intended. Distribution packages and development package options are available; mixing unrelated installation methods can leave the two parts out of step.
Applications with hardcoded icon paths may need the linked hardcode-fixer workflow, and running Steam games have a separate icon-fixer option. Requests for new drawings go to the core artwork project, while this repository tracks packaging issues. The collection uses GPLv3-or-later licensing.
Strengths
- The project documents how the base and Circle collection work together.
- Distribution-package routes and hardcoded-icon guidance are provided.
Watch out for
- Circle is intended to be combined with the Numix base using the same installation method.
Best for
- Linux desktops using circular application icons
