What it does
Qlementine Icons provides small SVG interface artwork, Qt integration and partial Freedesktop icon-theme coverage. The project publishes its source under MIT.
Add Qlementine Icons to a Qt 6 project with CMake FetchContent, link the library, initialize its icon theme and set the application theme name to qlementine. Named identifiers then retrieve the artwork without repeatedly writing asset paths. Individual SVGs can also be downloaded from the searchable website.
The recommended typed-identifier route helps avoid spelling errors. QIcon handles requested sizes and display pixel ratios, whereas directly loading the SVG with QPixmap produces a 16 by 16 physical-pixel image. This difference matters on a high-density desktop display.
The set is drawn for compact 16-pixel controls. Its Freedesktop name coverage is incomplete, so check the symbols a theme-dependent application requests. The existing library is free under MIT with public local downloads. Private commissioned additions are offered separately; the author may add general-purpose requests to the free collection.
Strengths
- Qt integration includes typed icon identifiers.
- The documented QIcon workflow accounts for high-density display rendering.
Watch out for
- Freedesktop icon-theme coverage is explicitly incomplete.
Best for
- Qt 6 desktop applications
- Qlementine-based menus and toolbars
