What it does
Papirus is a Linux SVG icon theme with light and dark variants, folder-color support and integration guidance for desktop applications.
Papirus applies a coordinated SVG theme across Linux applications, folders and panel icons. Its base, light and dark treatments share one project, with distribution packages and an installer that can select a destination, additional variants and a specific release.
Folder Color and papirus-folders provide ways to change folder colors. Application and tray integration need separate attention when software uses hardcoded icon paths; Papirus points to tools and manual fixes for those cases. Compare a few real applications as well as the file manager when setting up a workstation.
Some KDE symbolic icons are not recolorable, so choose the variant to match the desktop's color scheme. The project does not support non-native Linux applications running through Wine, Proton or similar layers. Papirus is distributed under GPLv3, while represented application logos keep their owners' trademark rights.
