What it does
dnsx is a command-line DNS toolkit with several record types, custom resolvers, multiple transports and wildcard handling.
Pipeline known names or provide a list file, then choose record types and resolvers. dnsx can filter response codes, save JSONL or format selected fields with an output template. Set a request-rate limit deliberately, since the documented default leaves it disabled. Mode combinations matter: stream mode disables wildcard handling, wordlists, statistics and resume. Manual wildcard-domain filtering and automatic detection are mutually exclusive, and manual mode ignores other flags according to the help. Keep these settings with the output so a wildcard-filtered result is not confused with an ordinary record query.
