What it does

Cells Sync is the desktop synchronization client for Pydio Cells, with selective folders and configurable one-way or two-way synchronization.

Start Cells Sync on Windows, macOS or Linux, then configure selected folders and a one-way or two-way task against the Cells service. The agent can also run headlessly, with command-line task management. A working server connection is a prerequisite: synchronization must be enabled, and the current setup guide uses gRPC over HTTP/2 for real-time events. It warns that the self-signed TLS setup does not work with the client’s OIDC discovery flow. The GPLv3 client does not supply a Cells server or its account permissions; check reverse-proxy and certificate setup before relying on ongoing sync.

Strengths

  • Selective folder synchronization
  • GUI and headless operation

Watch out for

  • Requires compatible server-side sync configuration
