What it does
PairDrop shares files and text between browsers on a local network or through paired devices and temporary Internet rooms.
Pair a phone and laptop once for regular exchanges, or join a temporary room for a one-off Internet handover. PairDrop supports QR and numeric-code pairing; the recipient accepts a request before transfer, and multiple files download as a ZIP. Pairing persists between visits, while closing PairDrop leaves temporary rooms. It runs in modern browsers. Direct connectivity is not guaranteed: the project documents TURN relay use for devices behind NAT and allows self-hosters to set their own STUN/TURN servers. These features extend the Snapdrop project it began from.
