What it does
speedtest-go is an independently developed CLI and Go API for Internet-speed measurements using speedtest.net infrastructure.
Run the client with its default nearby server or choose explicit server IDs for a comparison. speedtest-go supports JSON and JSONL output, separate download/upload controls, proxy and source binding, and several rate-unit families. Results can also be integrated through its Go interface. Keep the chosen servers and mode with the result, since they define the measured paths. The README warns that saving mode trades resources for lower accuracy, especially above 30 Mbps. Interface-name binding is Linux-only, and TCP transport is marked experimental. Its mask-ISP option hides sensitive fields in output; it does not establish that upstream requests are anonymous. This is an independent MIT-licensed client.
