What it does

Pingvin Share X is a self-hosted file-sharing application with share links, expiry, passwords, visitor limits and reverse shares for receiving files.

Deploy Pingvin Share X on your own server, choose local or S3 storage and create share links with expiry, passwords or visitor limits. Reverse shares provide an inbound upload route, while OIDC and LDAP connect user identity systems. File capacity depends on the installation’s storage and quotas. The stable v2.0.0 release changes S3 delivery to direct uploads and downloads through presigned URLs; existing S3 installations need the documented configuration changes before upgrading. A separate beta channel carries testing releases. The code uses the BSD 2-Clause license; hosting and administration remain the operator’s responsibility.

Strengths

  • Expiring shares and visitor limits
  • Local and S3 storage options

Watch out for
