What it does
dasel queries, changes, and converts structured formats including JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, CSV, and others. Its CLI uses consistent selectors across supported input types.
Feed structured data to the CLI, select an input/output format and use a common selector syntax to query or transform it. The v3 README's examples convert JSON to YAML through a pipeline and return selected values by default. After an assignment, the root option prints the complete modified document instead of only the assigned value. Recursive descent and conditional search select nested structures. The MIT project also exposes a Go library and binaries for Windows, Mac and Linux. File updates and format changes should be distinguished from the shape of the printed result.
Strengths
- Combines format conversion and structural selection through one interface.
