What it does
ungoogled-chromium is a patch set and distribution project that removes Google integrations and adds user-control and privacy changes to Chromium.
ungoogled-chromium removes or disables Google-specific integrations and blocks internal requests to substituted Google domains. This also disables Safe Browsing. Additional controls generally require manual activation: the repository names command-line switches, chrome://flags entries, a Suggestions URL field in chrome://settings/searchEngines and a No Search provider.
Package selection matters. The project lists maintained distribution packages separately from contributor-submitted binaries, for which it does not guarantee authenticity. Follow the installation, updates and extension instructions for the selected platform repository; the common patch set is not the entire platform build.
